The new 40,000 square foot Wold Science and Engineering Center sits in the heart of campus and connects two adjacent buildings. The outside wall of the existing F.W. Olin Center became the inside wall of the new Wold Center. A central glass-walled atrium connects the buildings creating an academic town square.
The state-of-the-art research facility houses interdisciplinary programs such as biochemistry, environmental science and engineering with high performance computer labs, a roof top renewable energy lab, conventional wet labs, flexible incubator labs, a state-of-the-art sound and recording lab, and twelve faculty offices. The lobby of the building houses a student cafe.
