Following a devastating fire in 1997, the building's owner, The Savings Bank in Wakefield, chose to preserve the historic character of Odd Fellows Hall while creating a modern interior space that conformed to the current building codes. The construction challenge was to remove the entire interior framing without bracing the exterior walls, and to install a new structure inside the face of the unreinforced historic exterior masonry wall. This 18,000 s/f, four-story landmark is listed in the National Register of Historic Buildings and now serves as the bank's administrative offices.
